EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS
“I went to see this rheumatologist and this is how I found out I had a hypermobility disorder. And she just looked to me and went: “you're just gonna have to accept that you're never going to be able to dance again. And you are going to probably have arthritis, and by the age of 30 or 40 you may need a wheelchair.” I was 17. And I was told that and I was like, “Well fuck the world then.”

“I wanted to bring a bit of freedom and liberation and empowerment to people. It's just a movement form of doing what feels right for you in the same way that you want to be like, authentic and you want to speak in a way that feels like you're in your truth.” - Cat Meffan - 3:30
“The biggest part of it and what we were all desperate for, is connection - is literally feeling held in a space without shame, without judgement, with like minded people, or not always like minded people, actually, maybe people that also challenge you.” Cat Meffan - 12:48
“I think innately, we are tribal creatures. We want to be a part of something much greater than ourselves.” - Ty Temel - 13:21
“You've got to trust that the algorithm is giving you something that is actually feeding you for the better. Because what we don't realise is that your algorithm feeds one thing that you don't even consciously realise had triggered something. But then deep down in the subconscious, something's been triggered.” - Cat Meffan - 16:40
“I used to be a part of this fucking toxic narrative of work, work work till midnight and back up at 4am fucking working again, as if you have to do that to be successful. Like the narrative is slowly changing now, but a couple of years ago it was really bad about working yourself to the bone to be successful. - Ty Temel - 22:01
However contrary to that, if you are trying to get somewhere in life, whether that be business, whether that be sport, anything, there is got to be a period in your life where you are fucking obsessed. Yeah, hustle season and there's no balance because you cannot really win without being 100% and that 100% cuts out the balance. - Ty Temel - 24:32
“That generational thing is mad, isn't? The “stiff upper lip” “just get on with it” mentality. You can imagine the period that those guys lived in and grew up in. And then we always have this battle, right? Are we too soft now? And are they too hard? And do we need to find something in the middle? Because if we're being honest, it's getting a bit ridiculous.” - Ty Temel - 1:17:35
